What is Cooks Shed?
Award-winning Sydney Chef Martin Boetz founded Cooks Shed (previously Cooks Co-op) in 2012. His vision for showcasing the very best local ingredients through shared dining experiences has come to life in the Cooks Shed, a unique and rustic environment in the Hawkesbury, 1 hour’s drive from Sydney’s CBD.
Cooks Shed is not a restaurant, but an event space. We host Weddings, Parties, Bespoke Corporate Events, Film Shoots, Product Launches... Any occasion, Marty is available to consult on a bespoke menu.
Each month, we open the Shed doors to the public for casual Locals Events and seasonal Long Lunches. These are ticketed dining events, charged per person for a set menu.
How do I book a table at a dining event?
We release our dining events one month in advance, i.e, in the first week of November, we will launch events for December. To be notified as soon as events are released, join our mailing list!
Events are scheduled based on our event calendar, with options for Saturday Night Dinners or Sunday Long Lunches.
At this time, we are only accepting reservations for groups of up to eight diners, for larger groups, please email email@example.com to discuss availability.
We welcome children over 10 years and do not offer a reduced children’s menu.

When do we find out what we’re eating?
The fun part! You will always know the style of menu you are booking in for, but our final menus are decided the week of the event, based on the best produce Martin can source from the local area.

Due to the set menu nature of our events, advance notice is essential for all dietary requirements.
Do I need to live in the Hawkesbury to attend a Locals Event?
No! It's just a name, all are welcome.

Yes, we are fully licensed and no longer offering BYO.

What is the cancellation policy?
We require three days (72 hours) notice to cancel a booking and provide a refund of the purchase amount. Cancellations after that time will be issued a gift certificate for the full purchase amount, which will remain valid for at least six months.
We are unable to provide a gift certificate for same day cancellations.
Please understand that we are a small regional venue, so while we often have a waitlist, we are unable to replace no-shows. Failure to advise of decreased numbers or cancellation will see you forfeit the purchase amount.
Do you offer Gift Vouchers?
We have temporarily stopped offering gift vouchers as we attempt to accommodate the huge amount of bookings that were postponed due to the lockdowns. We hope to have them on offer again by mid-2022.
I have a credit from a cancelled event, how do I use it?
You should have received a credit note in the form of a digital gift certificate. Simply enter the voucher code at the checkout when booking and the credit amount will be applied to your purchase.

Where is Cooks Shed, and how do we get there?
Cooks Shed is just over an hour from Sydney, located at 2 West Portland Road, Sackville.
We’re the first driveway on the right as you enter West Portland Road from Sackville Road, look out for the stone “Cooks Shed” sign.
Due to limited transport options in the local area, we would suggest pre-booking a taxi with Windsor Richmond Taxis on 0406 441 445.
